Swansea Museum

The oldest of the two museums, Swansea Museum is a real treasure house of the ordinary and the extraordinary from Swansea past and present. Swansea Museum is the oldest museum in Wales and has six galleries displaying everything from an Egyptian mummy to a Welsh kitchen. The museum was set up by the Royal Institution of South Wales and continued to be a centre of culture and learning.

The museum welcomes visitors of all ages and backgrounds as the collections cover a wide range of subjects, many of which are relevant to National Curriculum topics which encourages many local schools to visit the museum regularly. Admission is free and is a perfect place to spend a rainy Swansea afternoon...
