Southgate Village to Langland

This is a beautiful walk which takes two and a half hours at a relaxed pace. Start at the large National Trust Car Park in Southgate Village. The Three cliff's Coffee Shop is opposite the car park which serves excellent food and has a well stocked shop for any provisions. Follow the cliff path to the east - this is not clearly defined at first but there are a number of routes you can follow. If you prefer you can walk along the minor access road as far as Hunts Farm. At this point the path and road separate and path becomes more defined as it follows the line of the cliffs to Pwlldu Head.

Take care when you reach Pennard Farm. Go through the gate and follow the road down the hill about 50 meters. The path is on the right just before the wooden gate. The path now drops very steeply to Pwlldu Bay which is an excellent spot for a break or a picnic. At the bottom of the path turn left and cross the bridge over the river. Follow the unmade road 100 meters up the hill and the cliff path is clearly signposted on the right. The path is clear from this point and will take you past Brandy Cove and onto Caswell Bay. At low tide it is possible to walk onto Brandy Cove and across the rock onto Caswell and there are many deep rock pools to explore. There is a cafe at Caswell and toilet facilities before the final leg around the cliffs to Langland.
