Maddocks' Tea Room

Maddocks' Tea Room

Well if a cafe is not to be missed this is the one, you just have to read their reviews on Trip Advisor to get a sense of just how consistently good this tea room is. The food is home made and often locally sourced, they do a ‘proper’ afternoon tea with finger sandwiches and cakes on a tiered stand. But it’s not just tea, they also do a lovely breakfast and lunch too and it’s all delicious. Can’t beat scotch pancakes cooked in front of you with maple syrup, or Gower reared beef pie.  A good tip is to buy your picnic lunch here, go for a walk to nearby Three Cliffs and then come back to Maddocks for afternoon tea.

You can also buy a souvenir to remember your visit. Maddocks specialise in gift boxes of homemade Welshcakes and they are a great present to take home for friends and relatives, or buy a box to console you on your journey home from Gower. Maddocks sell traditional Welshcakes and my favourite, Welsh whiskey and sultanana Welshcakes. All we can say is ben digedig!  (ben digedig = fantastic or wonderful in Welsh)
