Our Favourite Walks on Gower

The temptation when considering a walk is generally to plan a circular route leading back to your car. There are a number of beautiful walks on Gower which fit into this category. However, when walking along the cliff path there is a strong urge to continue on, exploring the many coves and bays which make up this dramatic and varied landscape. Why not enlist the help of a local tour guide to show you delights of Gower. Gower Getaways can recommend Allison Thomas, who is a qualified Green Badge Tourist Guide for the Swansea, Gower and wider local area. She offers guided tours to groups either walking or by coach or mini bus. Her email address is Allison Thomasswanseatourguide@gmail.com

Southgate Village to Langland

This is a beautiful walk which takes two and a half hours at a relaxed pace. Start at the large National Trust Car Park in Southgate Village. The Three cliff's Coffee Shop is opposite the car park which serves excellent food and has a well stocked shop for any provisions. Follow the cliff path to the east - this is not clearly defined at first but there are a number of routes you can follow. If you prefer you can walk along the minor access road as far as Hunts Farm. Swansea Bay Promenade - Maritime Quarter to Mumbles Pier | Gower Getaways

Swansea Bay Promenade - Maritime Quarter to Mumbles Pier

Total Distance - 9km, Difficulty Level - Easy

Often compared to the Bay of Naples, this five mile sweep of golden sand links the Swansea Maritime Quarter and Mumbles Head. Running the length of the bay is a promenade ideal for a stroll or cycle ride.

We suggest you begin your walk from Swansea city centre. There are good public transport links into the city and the cafes in the Maritime quarter can provide a great start to the walk. There is soft sand from the Maritime Quarter to Singleton Park which is great for sunbathing, sandcastles and swimming if the tide is in
