Windsmoor is a pretty, three bedroom, semi detached cottage, which has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. PET GOES FREE (outside of school holidays). The cottage is in Perriswood, a hamlet on the slopes of Cefn Bryn. The cottage is well placed, on the hill above what are arguably two of Gower's most magnificent beaches; Oxwich and Three Cliffs. You are really in the heart of Gower here, with all its treasures;  Worm?s Head, Llangennith Bay, Port Eynon Bay a short drive away. It is a fifteen minute walk along a bridleway to Reynoldston and the King Arthur Inn where they serve wonderful meals. It is also possible to walk down a lane, take care as there are no pavements, and join a bridleway about 5 minutes walk from the house. This path takes you through Crawley woods and brings you out into the dunes behind Oxwich Bay and onto the beach. If you continue East you come to Three Cliffs Bay itself. On days when you want to relax at home Windsmoor has it?s own fields and woodland, great for the kids to explore and there is access directly onto Cefn Bryn, the rocky spine of Gower which affords wonderful views of the whole peninsular.

About this property:

Windsmoor Cottage has been refurbished throughout to a very high standard. On the ground floor the attractive sitting room has two sofas arranged around a  large log burner and television. There are French doors leading out to a sunny lawned garden, photos to follow. The generous kitchen diner is newly fitted with brand new appliances. French doors lead onto a private space with a table and chairs perfect for an al fresco breakfast. There is a cosy double room on this floor next to the family bathroom which has been well appointed with floor to ceiling tiles, a shower over the bath, wash hand basin and w.c.

Upstairs in the roof-space of the cottage there are two further bedrooms. A nicely proportioned twin bedroom with views through a large velux window over Cefn Bryn, the view that you can see in our photographs. The double bedroom also benefits from a charming view and plenty of light. There is a lavatory with wash hand basin on this floor. Outside the landscaped gardens are bordered by the fields and woodlands belonging to the cottage. There is plenty of parking on the drive in front of the property. This is a great spot from which to explore Gower.

In addition to all of this, the owners are offering guided Gower walks, packed lunches and holistic therapies to enhance your stay further in Windsmoor! Enquire via the Gower Getaways office (additional charges apply).

If you’re thinking of taking a holiday or short break in Wales, it would be hard to resist booking a getaway on the Gower Peninsula. From Mumbles to Penclawdd, it’s easy to find a property suitable for all party members to enjoy!

When looking at the map of the Gower Peninsular, Mumbles to Caswell seems like a long trip away, however the Coastal path can take you on a breath-taking walk, with café’s and benches along the way for those much needed rests and coffees. In Caswell, you’ll be greeted by the rippling waves on Caswell Bay used by paddlers and surfers alike, you can even book surfing lessons while on your holiday here.

If you’re looking for a village, away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbles but still in comfortable walking distance to Caswell Bay, Bishopston has all you need for a family holiday or a friendly gathering, with schools, pubs/gastro restaurants, shops and a park. Bishopston even has a hidden gem in the form of a secluded beach called Pwll Du which is accessed through an off road track.

From Bishopston, heading West of the Gower you will come across Pennard, Southgate and Parkmill. These sweet villages bring you to the properties situated closest to Three Cliffs Bay, a popularly photographed, iconic beach – well worth the visit, as seen on many brochures and posters for the Gower Peninsular. Roughly a mile further down the Gower Peninsular lie fresh water rivers, grassy landscapes and ‘pick your own’ fruit and veg farm’s and cafés belonging to the villages of Penmaen and Nicholaston. Here you can enjoy isolated walks and despite the country appearance you’re still never too far from the beaches Three Cliffs, Tor Bay, Nicholaston Burrows and Oxwich.

With sand dunes, water sports and even a leisure park, Oxwich Bay can provide the perfect base for beach a getaway. With the Oxwich Bay Hotel providing meals, drinks and snacks, there is no need to stray too far from the beach on a sunny day. Not far from this busy beach is the most South point of Gower and a quaint village called Port Eynon. Home to many campsites and caravan parks with the beaches of Port Eynon and Horton boasting the coast line, the village accommodates for friends and families with fish and chip shops, pubs and restaurants just minutes from the sandy beaches.

To the centre of the Gower lie The villages of Reynoldston and Knelston. Most visited for the King Arthur Hotel, serving gastro pub food and drinks which can be enjoyed in front of a log burning fire. The landscapes provide great surroundings for long walks and the beaches of Rhossili, Port Eynon and Llangennith are a short drive away.

When on the Gower Peninsular, most would argue that this trip would not be complete without visit to Rhossili Bay. Winning awards for it’s Natural Outstanding Beauty this ‘Epic’ dog friendly beach is home of the Worms Head.  Rhossili Bay is notorious for being in the UK’s top beaches, as voted by Trip Advisors visitors – even more boastful; the beach was voted as Wales’ Best Beach 2017. From awards to spectacular views and walks, Rhossili is a must visit where surfers can enjoy the Atlantic swell, giving the rest of us stunning views. All of which can be seen from the comfort of the benches from the public houses near by – keep an eye out for those seals and dolphins too!

If water sports is what you are looking for, you can’t look too far from Llangennith in the North West of Gower, included in most ‘top 10 surfing beaches’. Popular to campers and visitors from all around the world the area welcomes surfers and sightseers alike. With the Kings Head Inn at the heart of Llangennith, a lovely pet friendly place to rest after those long walks.

The final stretch of the Gower Peninsular leads to Crofy and Penclawdd, where the lovely panoramic views of the River Loughor set the scene for the gorgeous sun sets. Take walks along the Burry Estuary, see where the salt marsh lambs breed and where fresh cockles are picked for the local produce stores and Swansea Market.
